Under the leadership of Low Dog, the Oglala Sioux joined the Northern Cheyenne and left the Pine Ridge Agency, S.D. in 1876. Their tribe soon gathered with other tribes under Crazy hHorse and Sitting Bull to defeat Custer at Little Big Horn.
